And despite the rumors from her deathbed that Justice Ginsberg had asked for her replacement to be delayed until after the November 3rd election, there is precedent that this is a made-up story by desperate Democrats. For in 2016 she said this about Obama’s nomination of Merrick Garland:
Asked if the Senate had an obligation to assess Judge Garland’s qualifications, her answer was immediate.

And the claim that there isn’t enough time? For Sandra Day O’Connor – the first female Justice and the Reagan nominee who did shatter the so-called “glass ceiling” – it took just 33 days to be confirmed after she was nominated. There’s plenty of time!
